On a budget, try Mojzo Inn Boutique near the beach. Families do best at Vinpearl Resort & Spa Nha Trang Bay on Hon Tre island. For a quiet resort, The Anam on Bai Dai is about 15 minutes from Cam Ranh airport.

Where to stay in Nha Trang: areas at a glance

The city beach strip

Best for first-timers and short stays

Tran Phu beachfront

The main seafront road, lined with hotel towers that face the city beach.

Tran Phu is the long seafront road that runs along Nha Trang's city beach. Most of the big hotels sit on the land side of the road, so you cross a busy street to reach the sand. Behind the towers, Biet Thu, Hung Vuong and Nguyen Thien Thuat streets hold restaurants, bars, spas and the tour desks for island trips. You can walk to dinner every night, and Grab is quick if you want to go further. This is the right base for a first visit of two to four nights. The trade-offs are traffic noise on the front, crowded sand at weekends and in summer, and a city feel rather than a resort feel. Ask for a high floor on the sea side.

Local markets, lower prices

Best for budget stays and food

Old town and Xom Moi

The older centre around Dam Market and Xom Moi Market, a short ride from the beach.

The older part of Nha Trang lies inland from the beach, around Dam Market in the north of the centre and Xom Moi Market further south. Streets such as Phan Boi Chau and Bach Dang are ordinary city streets, with markets, noodle shops and small family hotels. Rooms are often cheaper than on the beachfront, and you see more of daily life. The beach is usually a 10 to 20 minute walk away, or a short Grab ride. Choose this side of town if you are on a budget, want to eat at local markets, or plan to spend your days on tours. Skip it if you want to step out of the lobby onto the sand, or if you want sea views.

Across the river

Best for calmer beaches and sea views

North Nha Trang and Hon Chong

The coast north of the Cai River, from Hon Chong to the resorts on Pham Van Dong.

North Nha Trang starts across the Cai River, over Xom Bong Bridge. The Po Nagar Cham Towers, the Hon Chong rocks and small Bai Duong beach are all here, and the coast road, Pham Van Dong, runs north past larger resorts. Hon Chong is about 3.5 to 4 km from the city centre, so you need a Grab or taxi for dinner on Tran Phu. In return you get quieter evenings, less crowded sand and more sea view for the money. The resorts further up Pham Van Dong are self-contained and suit people who want to stay put. This area suits couples and repeat visitors. It does not suit people who want to walk to bars and restaurants every night.

Theme park island

Best for families with children

Hon Tre island (Vinpearl)

The Vinpearl resorts on Hon Tre, next to the VinWonders theme park, reached by cable car or speedboat.

Hon Tre is the large island in Nha Trang Bay, home to the VinWonders theme park and a group of Vinpearl resorts. You reach it by cable car, about 8 minutes each way, or by speedboat from Vinpearl Harbour, which a July 2026 guide says is free for hotel guests. The harbour is about 4 to 5 km south of the city centre. Resorts have private beaches, large pools and kids' clubs, and electric shuttles run to the park. This suits families who want the theme park on the doorstep. The trade-off is isolation: every trip to the city means the boat or cable car, and some guests report wear in older rooms and noise from the park.

The airport resort strip

Best for resort stays near the airport

Bai Dai and Cam Ranh

The long beach strip on the Cam Ranh peninsula, 30 km or more south of the city and close to CXR.

Bai Dai, also called Long Beach, runs along the Cam Ranh peninsula between the city and Cam Ranh airport. Large resorts line the strip, and most sit 5 to 15 km from the airport, a 10 to 20 minute drive. Nha Trang city is 30 km or more away, roughly 40 to 60 minutes by car. The beach here is wide and less built up than the city beach, and resorts have their own pools, restaurants and spas. Choose this area for a pool-and-beach holiday, a short stay before an early flight, or a family stay at an all-in resort. Do not choose it if you want to explore the city, because there is little outside the resort gates.

Best hotels in Nha Trang: Tran Phu beachfront

Tran Phu is the long seafront road that runs along Nha Trang’s city beach.

Tran Phu beachfront in Nha Trang, Vietnam: AI illustration of the area

This is the right base for a first visit of two to four nights. The trade-offs are traffic noise on the front, crowded sand at weekends and in summer, and a city feel rather than a resort feel. Ask for a high floor on the sea side.

Older guides still list Evason Ana Mandara on Tran Phu. In February 2023, VnExpress reported that the resort was being dismantled and moved to a new site in Cam Ranh, so we have left it out.

Budget: Mojzo Inn Boutique

A small hotel at 65/7 Nguyen Thien Thuat in the Tran Phu beach area, close to the night market. Why this one: it puts you in the busiest part of town for a low price, with the beach a short walk away. It is also listed on Hostelworld, so it suits solo travellers and backpackers who want a private room.

Mid-range: Liberty Central Nha Trang

A high-rise hotel at 9 Biet Thu, one block back from the beach. Why this one: it has an outdoor pool with a pool bar, a children’s pool, a sauna and a rooftop bar, and Biet Thu is one of the main streets for restaurants. Good value if you want four-star facilities without paying for a sea-facing tower.

Mid-range: Novotel Nha Trang

A 154-room hotel at 50 Tran Phu, across the road from the beach, opened in 2008. Why this one: rooms have balconies with sea or bay views, and it has a pool and a spa. One listing notes that rooms are due for a refresh, so check recent photos before you book.

Upper mid-range: Vinpearl Beachfront Nha Trang

An apartment-style hotel at 78-80 Tran Phu, listed on some sites as Vinpearl Condotel Beachfront. Why this one: units range from studios of about 42 m² to multi-bedroom apartments, which suits families and longer stays, and the infinity pool on the 6th floor looks over the bay. The beach is across the street.

Luxury: Sheraton Nha Trang Hotel & Spa

A 280-room tower at 26-28 Tran Phu, with six restaurants and bars, including Altitude on level 28, and a spa. Why this one: it combines a beachfront address with full five-star service, and a 2026 guide names it the top-rated hotel in Nha Trang on Tripadvisor as of March 2026.

Luxury: InterContinental Nha Trang

A large hotel at 32-34 Tran Phu, next to the Sheraton, with about 280 rooms. Why this one: the classic rooms start at about 40 to 43 m² with balconies, larger than most city hotels, and ocean-view rooms face the bay. Choose it over the Sheraton if room size matters more than a sky bar.

Old town and Xom Moi

The older part of Nha Trang lies inland from the beach, around Dam Market in the north of the centre and Xom Moi Market further south. Streets such as Phan Boi Chau and Bach Dang are ordinary city streets, with markets, noodle shops and small family hotels. Rooms are often cheaper than on the beachfront, and you see more of daily life.

Old town and Xom Moi in Nha Trang, Vietnam: AI illustration of the area

The beach is usually a 10 to 20 minute walk away, or a short Grab ride. Choose this side of town if you are on a budget, want to eat at local markets, or plan to spend your days on tours. Skip it if you want to step out of the lobby onto the sand, or if you want sea views.

Budget: Le’s Cham Hotel

A small hotel at 87 Bach Dang in Tan Lap, near Xom Moi Market, with 24-hour reception. Why this one: it is one of the better-reviewed budget hotels on this side of town, and guests describe a walk of about 10 minutes to the seafront square. A sensible base if you want market food and a lower bill.

Budget to mid-range: Nhat Thanh Hotel

A hotel at 57-59-61 Phan Boi Chau, a few minutes on foot from Dam Market. Why this one: it has an outdoor pool and a rooftop terrace, which is rare at this price in the old centre. Listings disagree on the exact walk to the market, from about 2 to 10 minutes, but it is close either way.

North Nha Trang and Hon Chong

Mid-range: Muong Thanh Luxury Vien Trieu Hotel

A large hotel in the Bai Duong zone on Hon Chong street, about 3 minutes on foot from Bai Duong beach. Why this one: you get sea views, an outdoor pool, a spa and two restaurants for less than a Tran Phu tower. Reviews are mixed on upkeep and noise, so ask for a higher floor.

Upper mid-range: Champa Island Nha Trang – Resort Hotel & Spa

A resort on a small island at the mouth of the Cai River, at 304 2/4 street, with views of Xom Bong Bridge and Po Nagar. Why this one: it has a large pool with a waterfall, villas with private pools, condotel apartments and a salt stone spa, and it is only a short ride from the centre.

Luxury: Amiana Resort Nha Trang

A resort on its own bay off Pham Van Dong, north of the city. Listings give 8 to 10 km to the centre. Why this one: it has a private beach, a 2,500 m² seawater pool and two freshwater infinity pools, so you can spend whole days without leaving. Some late 2025 reviews flagged breakfast standards, so read recent reviews.

Hon Tre island (Vinpearl)

Hon Tre is the large island in Nha Trang Bay, home to the VinWonders theme park and a group of Vinpearl resorts. You reach it by cable car, about 8 minutes each way, or by speedboat from Vinpearl Harbour, which a July 2026 guide says is free for hotel guests. The harbour is about 4 to 5 km south of the city centre. Resorts have private beaches, large pools and kids’ clubs, and electric shuttles run to the park.

This suits families who want the theme park on the doorstep. The trade-off is isolation: every trip to the city means the boat or cable car, and some guests report wear in older rooms and noise from the park. Check what your rate includes, such as park entry and meals, before you book.

Mid-range to upper mid-range: Vinpearl Resort & Spa Nha Trang Bay

A large resort on Hon Tre with 483 hotel rooms plus villas, a private beach, a big outdoor pool, a kids’ club and an overwater spa. Why this one: it is close to VinWonders and suits families who want a pool day and a park day in the same trip. Prices change a lot with the season, so compare dates.

Luxury: Vinpearl Luxury Nha Trang

A villa-only resort on Hon Tre with 84 villas, each with a private pool. Why this one: it is the quietest of the island resorts, aimed at couples, with butler service, a private beach and an overwater spa. Reviews praise the pools and views but say service and food do not always match the price.

Bai Dai and Cam Ranh

A separate guide to Nha Trang resorts will cover this coast in more depth.

Upper mid-range: Mövenpick Resort Cam Ranh

A large resort about 6 km from the airport and 30 km from the city, according to its official site. Why this one: it has rooms, studios and pool villas, with sea-view balconies in the standard rooms, so it works for couples, families and longer stays. It is the closest resort on this list to the airport.

Upper mid-range: Alma Resort Cam Ranh

A large resort on Long Beach, about 8.5 km from the airport, with 12 outdoor pools and a water park. Why this one: it is the strongest family pick on the peninsula, with enough pools and activities to fill several days. Bai Dai beach is a few minutes’ walk from the rooms.

Luxury: Mia Resort Nha Trang

A smaller resort at Bai Dong in Cam Hai Dong, about 12 km south of the city and about 25 minutes by car from the airport. Why this one: it sits on its own small bay and has a quieter, boutique feel than the big Bai Dai resorts. It is listed in the Michelin Guide, and it is the closest Cam Ranh area resort to the city.

Luxury: The Anam Cam Ranh

A colonial-style resort near Bai Dai beach, about 11 km from Cam Ranh airport, roughly a 15-minute drive. Why this one: it is the most established luxury resort on the strip, with gardens, pools and the beach a short walk away. A paid airport shuttle runs around the clock.

Our rule of thumb: for a short first visit, stay on Tran Phu. For five nights or more, split your stay between the city and a resort on Hon Tre or Bai Dai.

Plan your stay in Nha Trang

Airport transfer. Nha Trang is served by Cam Ranh International Airport (CXR), about 30 to 35 km south of the city centre. Fares vary by source and date, so check the app before you ride. A transport guide last updated in July 2026 gives 400,000 to 600,000 VND for Grab to the centre, taking 45 to 60 minutes, and 450,000 to 700,000 VND for a Vinasun or Mai Linh metered taxi.

Another guide, updated on 16 July 2026, gives 300,000 to 350,000 VND for Grab by day, up to 400,000 VND at night. Grab’s own airport page gives an average of about 250,000 to 350,000 VND and about 45 minutes, without a date. To the Bai Dai resorts, the July 2026 guide gives 100,000 to 200,000 VND and 15 to 20 minutes.

Airport bus. Bus 18 runs from the airport to Yersin street in the centre, via Bai Dai, for about 50,000 VND and 50 to 60 minutes (July 2026). A yellow airport shuttle that stops at hotels on Tran Phu costs about 65,000 VND, per the July 2026 guide. Many resorts on Bai Dai and Hon Tre also sell transfers.

When prices peak. Sources agree on the weather but not on prices. February to April is the driest, most settled time. June to August is hot and busy, with many domestic families, and Tet in late January or February also brings crowds. The wet season runs roughly September to December, with October and November the wettest, when island boat trips can be cancelled. Rates are often lower then. See our Vietnam weather by month guide for the wider picture.

Getting around. Grab and metered taxis cover the city, and you can walk most of Tran Phu. You need mobile data for Grab, so read our Vietnam SIM card guide before you land.

Addresses. In June 2025, Nha Trang’s old wards were merged into larger wards, and in July 2025 Khanh Hoa province merged with Ninh Thuan. Listings may show old ward names such as Loc Tho or Vinh Phuoc, or the new ones such as Bac Nha Trang.
