The best Nha Trang resorts for most travellers start with JW Marriott Cam Ranh Bay Resort & Spa, opened in September 2025 on a private 2 km stretch of Bai Dai, 20 to 30 minutes from Cam Ranh airport. For a honeymoon, Six Senses Ninh Van Bay is reached only by boat.

Families do well on Hon Tre island next to VinWonders, or at Alma Resort Cam Ranh with 12 pools. This guide covers 16 resorts in five areas with transfer times.

  • Couples and honeymoon: Six Senses Ninh Van Bay, a boat-only villa resort; L’Alya Ninh Van Bay is the smaller, quieter alternative.
  • Budget-friendly resort: Champa Island Nha Trang – Resort Hotel & Spa, on a river island a short ride from the centre.

Where to stay in Nha Trang: areas at a glance

The airport resort strip

Best for beach holidays and short airport transfers

Cam Ranh peninsula and Bai Dai

The long beach on the Cam Ranh peninsula, 30 km or more south of the city and close to Cam Ranh airport.

Most of the big Nha Trang resorts are not in Nha Trang at all. They line Bai Dai, also called Long Beach, on the Cam Ranh peninsula, between the city and Cam Ranh International Airport (CXR). Most sit 5 to 15 km from the airport, so you can be at the pool 15 to 30 minutes after landing. Nha Trang city is 30 km or more away, about 40 to 60 minutes by car. The beach is wide and far less built up than the city beach, and each resort has its own pools, restaurants and spa. This is the right area for a week of pool and sand, for families, and for a last night before an early flight. It is the wrong area if you want to walk out to street food and bars, because there is little outside the resort gates.

Boat-access villas

Best for honeymoons and total privacy

Ninh Van Bay and Hon Heo

A roadless bay on the Hon Heo peninsula north of Nha Trang, reached only by speedboat.

Ninh Van Bay sits on the Hon Heo peninsula, across the water from the mainland north of Nha Trang. There is no road to the resorts here, so every arrival is a drive to a private jetty and then a 15 to 20 minute speedboat ride. From Cam Ranh airport the whole trip takes about an hour and a half. In return you get villas set among boulders and forest, with private plunge pools and almost no outside noise. This is the honeymoon corner of Nha Trang. The trade-offs are cost, since transfers are usually extra, and isolation: you eat every meal at the resort, and boats can be affected by rough seas in the wet months.

Theme park island

Best for families with children

Hon Tre island (Vinpearl)

The large island in Nha Trang Bay, home to VinWonders and a cluster of Vinpearl-owned resorts.

Hon Tre is the big island facing the city across Nha Trang Bay. It holds the VinWonders theme park and a group of resorts owned by Vinpearl, including one run by Marriott. You reach it by cable car, about 8 minutes each way, or by speedboat from Vinpearl Harbour, about 4 to 5 km south of the centre; a July 2026 guide says the boat is free for hotel guests. The resorts have private beaches, big pools and kids' clubs, with shuttles to the park. Pick Hon Tre if your children want rides and slides on the doorstep. Skip it if you want to explore the city, because every trip out means the boat or cable car.

Bays past Hon Chong

Best for a resort close to the city

North Nha Trang

The coast road north of Hon Chong, toward Vinh Luong, with resorts in small private bays.

North of the Cai River, the coast road Pham Van Dong runs past Hon Chong and on toward Vinh Luong, with hills on one side and small bays on the other. The resorts here sit in their own coves, 6 to 15 km from the city centre, so a Grab to Tran Phu for dinner takes about 15 to 30 minutes. Cam Ranh airport is a long way off, roughly an hour or more by car. The beaches are smaller than Bai Dai and often rocky, which is good for snorkelling and less good for long swims. Choose this area if you want a full resort but still plan to visit the city, Po Nagar and the islands. Avoid it if a short airport transfer matters most.

Resort feel, city prices

Best for a budget-friendly resort stay

Nha Trang city edge

The river-mouth island just north of the centre, the only resort-style option close to Tran Phu.

The city beach on Tran Phu is lined with hotel towers, not resorts: you cross a busy road to reach the sand, and pools sit on decks rather than in gardens. If you want a resort feel without leaving town, look at the small island at the mouth of the Cai River, a short ride from the centre. You get large pools and gardens for much less than the Cam Ranh resorts, and the restaurants of Tran Phu are close. The catch is that there is no swimming beach at the door, and the setting is a river, not the open sea.

Cam Ranh peninsula and Bai Dai

Most sit 5 to 15 km from the airport, so you can be at the pool 15 to 30 minutes after landing. Nha Trang city is 30 km or more away, about 40 to 60 minutes by car. The beach is wide and far less built up than the city beach, and each resort has its own pools, restaurants and spa.

Cam Ranh peninsula and Bai Dai in Nha Trang, Vietnam: AI illustration of the area

This is the right area for a week of pool and sand, for families, and for a last night before an early flight. It is the wrong area if you want to walk out to street food and bars, because there is little outside the resort gates.

JW Marriott Cam Ranh Bay Resort & Spa

The newest big name on the strip, opened in September 2025 on a private 2 km stretch of Bai Dai. Its 203 keys include 27 pool villas of one to four bedrooms, and there is an infinity pool, a lazy river, a kids’ club for under-12s and a teen space. Travel + Leisure’s 2026 Luxury Awards ranked it third among Vietnam’s beach and island resorts. Trade-off: few guest reviews yet, and top-end prices.

The Anam Cam Ranh

A colonial-style resort near Bai Dai, about 11 km from the airport, roughly 15 minutes by car. Guests who stayed between late 2025 and early 2026 praise the gardens, the spa, the pools, the breakfast and the staff, and there is a cinema, yoga and a kids’ club. It suits travellers who want a mature, well-run resort over the newest one. Trade-offs: some rooms are showing their age, and drinks and towels on the beach are self-service.

Ana Mandara Cam Ranh

A large resort on Bai Dai, about 10 minutes from the airport and 40 minutes from Nha Trang, with nearly 300 rooms. In January 2026 it added 30 Lagoon Villas with private pools and their own restaurant, pool and spa, aimed at families and groups. It won Asia’s Leading New Resort at the 2023 World Travel Awards. Do not confuse it with the old Evason Ana Mandara on Tran Phu in the city, which VnExpress reported was being dismantled in 2023.

Mövenpick Resort Cam Ranh

A large resort about 6 km from the airport and 30 km from the city, according to its official site, which makes it the quickest arrival on this list. Listings show hotel rooms plus one- to three-bedroom pool villas, a kids’ club and a water play area, and family reviews from 2026 are positive. Sources disagree on the total number of rooms. It suits families and anyone with an early flight. One 2025 review flagged slow restaurant service at busy times.

Alma Resort Cam Ranh

A 30-hectare family resort on Long Beach with 12 pools that step down to the sand, including a 75-metre lap pool and an adults-only pool. A 6,000 m² water park with a wave pool and lazy river, a cinema, mini golf and a kids’ club fill the days. Suites and pavilions range up to three bedrooms, some with private pools. Why this one: it is the strongest pure family pick on the coast. Trade-off: it is big and busy in summer.

Radisson Blu Resort Cam Ranh

A beachfront resort on Bai Dai, about 40 minutes south of Nha Trang. Every room looks out to sea, and there are one-bedroom pool villas, a kids’ club, an ESC spa, tennis and five restaurants and bars. Reviews from mid-2026 are strong on staff, food and grounds, and guests mention a free shuttle to the city. It is usually cheaper than the luxury names nearby. Trade-off: as with all of Bai Dai, there is little to eat outside, so book dinner tables ahead.

Fusion Resort Cam Ranh

A villa resort on a 28-metre sand dune above Cam Ranh Bay, 5 km from the airport and 2 km from Long Beach, according to its own site. Spa treatments are included in the rate, breakfast is served where and when you like, and pool villas go up to four bedrooms. The Hideaway, a separate section of one-bedroom pool villas, opened in 2019. Why this one: the best value once you count the spa. Trade-off: it faces the bay, not the open sea of Bai Dai.

Mia Resort Nha Trang

A boutique resort of about 50 rooms on its own cove at Bai Dong, about 12 km south of the city and about 25 minutes from the airport. It has condos, suites and villas, some with private pools, and it is listed in the Michelin Guide. Why this one: it is smaller and calmer than the big Bai Dai resorts, and the closest of this group to the city. Trade-off: fewer facilities, and only some villas have pools.

Ninh Van Bay and Hon Heo

Six Senses Ninh Van Bay

A villa resort reached only by boat, about an hour’s drive from Cam Ranh airport plus a 15 to 20 minute speedboat ride. Sources give 58 to 62 villas, most with private pools, spread along the beach, the hillside and the rocks. In the Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards 2026 it ranked first among Vietnam’s resorts with pools and third among spa resorts. Why this one: it is the classic Vietnam honeymoon resort. Trade-off: transfers are not included in room rates, and prices are high.

L’Alya Ninh Van Bay

A smaller boat-access resort on the same bay, also spelled L’Alyana, with 33 to 35 villas by source, each with a plunge pool. The boat takes about 15 minutes from a mainland lounge about 16 km from Nha Trang and costs extra. There is one restaurant, a small spa and an organic farm. Why this one: Ninh Van Bay seclusion for less than Six Senses. Trade-off: one place to eat, and no under-12s in the Hill Rock villas.

Hon Tre island (Vinpearl)

Hon Tre is the big island facing the city across Nha Trang Bay. It holds the VinWonders theme park and a group of resorts owned by Vinpearl, including one run by Marriott. You reach it by cable car, about 8 minutes each way, or by speedboat from Vinpearl Harbour, about 4 to 5 km south of the centre; a July 2026 guide says the boat is free for hotel guests. The resorts have private beaches, big pools and kids’ clubs, with shuttles to the park.

Pick Hon Tre if your children want rides and slides on the doorstep. Skip it if you want to explore the city, because every trip out means the boat or cable car. Check whether your rate includes meals and park tickets.

Vinpearl Resort & Spa Nha Trang Bay

A large family resort with a private beach, a big outdoor pool, a kids’ club and an overwater spa. A June 2026 review scored it 8.4 out of 10, praising the beach and dining, with a free shuttle to VinWonders. Why this one: a pool day and a park day in the same trip. Trade-offs: the all-inclusive plan covers meals more than drinks, park tickets cost extra, and loungers run out at midday in busy months.

Nha Trang Marriott Resort & Spa, Hon Tre Island

Marriott’s largest hotel in Vietnam, with 829 keys: 403 rooms and suites plus 426 villas of two to four bedrooms, on a 2 km beach. It has seven pools, a spa, a kids’ club and four restaurants and bars, and some rates include meals. Some booking sites still list it under an older Vinpearl name. Why this one: the multi-bedroom villas suit large families and groups who want Marriott service. Trade-off: it is huge, so it rarely feels quiet.

Vinpearl Luxury Nha Trang

A villa-only resort on Hon Tre with 84 villas, each with a private pool, on its own beach away from the theme park crowds. Guests reach it by a free speedboat from the mainland. Why this one: the most private stay on Hon Tre, with butler service, which suits couples and families who want a pool to themselves. Trade-off: reviews say service and food do not always match the price.

North Nha Trang

Villa Le Corail, A Gran Meliá Hotel

A villa resort on Bai Tien beach at Duong De, north of the city, opened in 2023. Suites and pool villas of up to four bedrooms face the sea or a lagoon, and it ranked tenth among Vietnam’s beach and island resorts in the Travel + Leisure 2026 awards. Why this one: big private-pool villas within reach of the city. Trade-offs: a review roundup says the beach is small and rocky, nearby construction can be noisy, and dining is expensive.

Amiana Resort Nha Trang

A resort in its own cove off Pham Van Dong, 6 to 10 km from the centre depending on the source. It has a private beach that guests praise for snorkelling, a 2,500 m² seawater pool and two freshwater infinity pools. Reviews from early 2026 are positive on staff and pools. Why this one: you get a full resort and can still reach the city for dinner. Trade-off: some late 2025 reviews flagged breakfast standards.

Nha Trang city edge

The city beach on Tran Phu is lined with hotel towers, not resorts: you cross a busy road to reach the sand, and pools sit on decks rather than in gardens. If you want a resort feel without leaving town, look at the small island at the mouth of the Cai River, a short ride from the centre. You get large pools and gardens for much less than the Cam Ranh resorts, and the restaurants of Tran Phu are close.

The catch is that there is no swimming beach at the door, and the setting is a river, not the open sea.

For city hotels such as the Sheraton and InterContinental, see our best hotels in Nha Trang guide.

Champa Island Nha Trang – Resort Hotel & Spa

A resort of about 168 rooms on an island at the mouth of the Cai River, at 304 2/4 street, with views of Xom Bong Bridge and Po Nagar. It has a large pool with a waterfall, villas with private pools, condotel apartments and a salt stone spa. Why this one: the lowest prices of any resort on this list, and a short ride to the city. Trade-off: no beach, and breakfast and airport transfers cost extra.

How to choose a Nha Trang resort

By trip. For a short stay, Bai Dai is quickest from the airport. Ninh Van Bay needs three nights or more to justify the transfer. Groups do well in the multi-bedroom villas on Hon Tre or at Fusion and Ana Mandara Cam Ranh.

By season. February to August is mostly dry, with June to August the busiest. September to December is the wet season, with October and November the wettest; boats to Ninh Van Bay and Hon Tre can be disrupted then, and rates are often lower. See our Vietnam weather by month guide.

Plan your stay

Airport transfers. Nha Trang is served by Cam Ranh International Airport (CXR), about 30 km south of the city. To the Bai Dai resorts, a transport guide updated in July 2026 gives 100,000 to 200,000 VND by Grab and 15 to 20 minutes. To the city and the north Nha Trang resorts, July 2026 guides give 300,000 to 600,000 VND and 45 to 60 minutes or more. Most resorts also sell private transfers.

Boat-access resorts. Six Senses Ninh Van Bay and L’Alya Ninh Van Bay charge for the car and boat transfer, so ask for the price when you book. For Hon Tre, you check in at Vinpearl Harbour, about 40 minutes by car from the airport, then take the boat or the cable car.

When prices peak. Rates rise in June to August, at Tet in late January or February, and over Vietnamese public holidays. See our Vietnam public holidays guide before you book.

Getting around. Many Bai Dai resorts run city shuttles, some free and some paid. Otherwise use Grab, which needs mobile data; see our Vietnam SIM card guide. Ward names changed in the 2025 mergers, so listings may show old or new addresses.
