How We Create Our Travel Guides

Saigon Homestay is a boutique apartment host in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. These guides
exist to help people planning a trip to Vietnam — including, but not only, the guests who
stay with us. This page explains how the guides are actually made, so you can judge how much
weight to put on any given number on this site.

How our guides are researched and written

  • Sources first. Every guide is built from published, checkable sources:
government tourism boards, the national e-visa portal, transport operators and railway
timetables, UNESCO listings, embassy advisories, national statistics offices and established
travel publications. Where we state a price, a fee or an opening time, we link where it came
    from.
  • AI-assisted drafting, human editing. Our guides are researched and drafted
with AI assistance, then reviewed and edited by the Saigon Homestay editorial team before
publishing. We would rather tell you that than let you guess.
  • Local knowledge where we genuinely have it. We live and work in District 1,
so on Saigon topics — neighbourhoods, getting around, eating near the centre — we
write from direct experience. For regions we do not operate in, we rely on sourced research, and
we would rather say so than pretend to a familiarity we do not have.
  • The images are AI-generated illustrations. Pictures on this site are
AI-generated, not photographs of the specific places described. They are there to break up the
page, not to serve as evidence of what somewhere looks like today.

Prices, dates and how much to trust them

Prices in Vietnam move quickly and opening hours change without notice. Treat every figure
here as correct at the date shown, according to the source we linked — not as a guarantee.
Before you travel, confirm anything that would ruin your day if it turned out to be wrong: visa
rules, ticket prices, the last train of the evening.

Corrections

If you find something wrong, tell us through the contact page. We
check every report and fix confirmed errors. We would much rather hear about a bad number than
leave it up.

How we make money

We make money two ways, and you should know both. First, we rent out our own apartments, and we say so on the pages where we mention them. Second, some links to hotels and other accommodation on this site are affiliate links: if you book through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links never decide what we recommend, what we warn you about, or the order anything appears in. We carry no paid placements or sponsored posts.
