For most short trips, the best Da Nang apartments are aparthotels near My Khe Beach and the An Thuong streets, such as Altara Suites Da Nang by AHG, a 2 to 5 minute walk from the sand and 15 to 20 minutes from the airport.
You get a kitchen, a pool and a staffed front desk that handles the police registration every foreign guest needs. Airbnb makes more sense for a month or more, or for a group that wants a whole house.
Key Takeaways
– My Khe and An Thuong have the widest choice of apartments, from small aparthotels to beachfront towers.
– Airbnb suits month-long stays and groups; for short stays, watch the cleaning fee.
– Every foreign guest must be registered with the police on arrival, so confirm your host does it.
– Monthly rents for a central studio were around VND 6 million in May 2026.

Da Nang apartments by area at a glance
Da Nang is compact. The airport is about 3 to 4 km from the city centre and 5 to 7 km from My Khe Beach, according to the Vietnam Tourism guide, so every area is a short ride from the others. The real choice is between beach, city, view and space.
| Area | Best for | Price band | Walk or ride to main sights |
|---|---|---|---|
| My Khe and An Thuong | First visits, beach, monthly stays | Budget to luxury | Beach 2 to 5 min walk; Dragon Bridge 10 min ride; airport 15 to 20 min |

Where to stay in Da Nang: areas at a glance
Beach base
Best for first visits and monthly stays
My Khe and An Thuong
Beachfront apartment towers on Vo Nguyen Giap and small aparthotels in the An Thuong lanes behind them.
My Khe is where most Da Nang apartments are. Tall aparthotels and condo towers line Vo Nguyen Giap, the beach road, and smaller apartment hotels fill the An Thuong lanes a few blocks inland. The sand is a two to five minute walk from most of them, the Dragon Bridge is about 10 minutes by Grab, and the airport is around 15 to 20 minutes away. Cafes, minimarts, gyms and laundries are all close, which is why this area suits both a five-night beach holiday and a month of remote work. The trade-offs are traffic on the beach road, ongoing tower construction and bar noise on a few streets. If you want quiet nights, pick a building one or two blocks back from the busiest An Thuong streets.
City base
Best for short stays, food and business trips
Han River and Hai Chau
Central riverside district with markets, local restaurants and a few serviced apartment buildings.
Hai Chau is the city centre on the west bank of the Han River. Han Market, Con Market, the cathedral and many of the best local restaurants are within a 5 to 15 minute walk, and the airport is about 10 minutes away by car. My Khe Beach is a 10 minute Grab ride across the bridges. Apartment choice is smaller than at the beach: a handful of small aparthotels in the side streets and a few serviced apartment towers on Bach Dang, the riverfront road. It suits one to three night stays, food-focused trips and business travellers who want a kitchen and a desk. The downsides are traffic noise and no beach outside the door, so beach lovers on longer trips usually move to My Khe.
Views base
Best for families and bay or river views
Son Tra riverside
East bank of the Han River and the bay shore, with large condotel towers and rooftop pools.
The Son Tra side of the river, around and north of the Dragon Bridge and along the shore of Da Nang Bay, is where the big condotel towers are. Rooms and apartments here sit high up, with views over the river, the bridges or the bay, and the buildings come with large pools, gyms and kids' facilities. The airport is about 15 minutes by car, and the Dragon Bridge and the river walk are close to the riverfront towers. My Khe Beach is a short Grab ride east. It suits families who want space and on-site facilities, and couples who care about the view. The catch is that some towers feel a little cut off, with few restaurants or shops in walking distance, so you will use Grab more than in An Thuong.
Villa strip
Best for families, groups and Hoi An day trips
Ngu Hanh Son and Non Nuoc
Southern beach strip of resorts with private-pool villas and resort residences.
South of My Khe, the beach road runs past Khue My and on to Non Nuoc in Ngu Hanh Son, close to the Marble Mountains. Here the apartment-style choice is mostly inside resorts: private-pool villas and one to three bedroom residences with full kitchens, plus privately owned condo units in resort-linked buildings on Truong Sa road. The Marble Mountains are about 5 to 10 minutes away, Hoi An is roughly 20 to 30 minutes by car, and the Han River centre is about 20 minutes. It suits families and groups who want space, a kitchen and resort pools, and anyone splitting time with Hoi An. The downside is that there is little to walk to outside the resort gates, so meals out need a taxi.
Airbnb in Da Nang: when does it make sense?
Airbnb has a large choice in Da Nang: condo units in the towers along My Khe, small houses in the An Thuong lanes and villas with pools further south. Many of the same towers also have privately owned units on Booking.com, for example individual apartments inside the Altara Suites building, so the difference is often the booking terms rather than the room.
Airbnb works best in three cases. The first is a stay of a month or more, when you can message hosts and ask for a long-stay rate. The second is a group or family that wants a whole house with several bedrooms. The third is a stay where you want a specific local street rather than a tower.
For one to four nights, the trade-offs add up:
- Cleaning fees. A cleaning fee is a one-off charge set by each host and included in the total price, according to Airbnb’s Help Centre. On a two-night stay it can lift the real cost per night a lot, so compare total prices, not nightly rates.
- House rules and check-in. Most condo units use self check-in with a lockbox or a host meeting you in the lobby. There is no front desk to hold bags, fix the air conditioning at night or call a taxi.
- Long-stay cancellation terms. Bookings of 28 nights or more fall under the host’s long-term cancellation policy, either Firm or Strict (Airbnb Help Centre). Under both, cancelling after check-in brings no refund, so read the terms before you book a month.
- Police registration. Every foreign guest must be registered, and with a private host you need to check that it happens. More on this in the next section.
If those points do not bother you, Airbnb is a sound choice. If they do, the aparthotels below give you a kitchen and space with hotel-style service.
Do Airbnb hosts in Da Nang register foreign guests?
They are supposed to. Under Ministry of Public Security Circular 87, in force from 24 July 2026, accommodation providers must register a foreign guest’s temporary residence immediately after arrival, online or with a paper form to local police, according to Viet Nam News. The same report lists fines for providers who fail to report.
Da Nang enforces this. In September 2026 the city’s police said they had inspected 781 accommodation facilities, found 34 that broke the rules on declaring foreign residents and issued fines totalling VND 689 million, as reported by Tuoi Tre News.
Hotel and aparthotel receptions usually handle registration when they scan your passport. With an Airbnb host or a private monthly landlord, ask before arrival who will register you, send your passport and visa details promptly, and keep the booking confirmation and the host’s contact details. Make sure the address on your booking matches where you actually sleep.
Is My Khe and An Thuong the best area for an apartment?

One long-term resident’s guide singles out Ngo Thi Si street as full of bars and worth avoiding if you want quiet (Expatolife).

Han River and Hai Chau: are city apartments worth it?

Budget: Q Apartment Da Nang

Marriott Executive Apartments Danang, Han River opened at 58 Bach Dang as the brand’s first property in Vietnam. It has 91 studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom serviced apartments, indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness studio and a rooftop bar. It is the strongest pick here for business trips and stays of several weeks.
Son Tra riverside: which apartments have the best views?
The Son Tra side of the river, around and north of the Dragon Bridge and along the shore of Da Nang Bay, is where the big condotel towers are. Rooms and apartments here sit high up, with views over the river, the bridges or the bay, and the buildings come with large pools, gyms and kids’ facilities.
The forested Son Tra peninsula itself has almost no apartments. If you want to stay there, the resorts in our where to stay in Da Nang guide are the options.
Mid-range: Wyndham Danang Golden Bay
Wyndham Danang Golden Bay is an apartment hotel at 1 Le Van Duyet, overlooking Da Nang Bay. Its best-known feature is a gold-plated infinity pool on the 29th floor, and it has a kids’ club and a children’s pool. Some units have kitchens or kitchenettes, so choose the room type with care. A January 2026 reviewer noted that there is not much to walk to nearby.
Luxury: Melia Vinpearl Danang Riverfront
Melia Vinpearl Danang Riverfront, formerly Vinpearl Condotel Riverfront, is a large five-star condotel at 341 Tran Hung Dao, on the river with the Dragon Bridge within walking distance. Rooms are spacious, and reviewers mention pools and a gym. Some rooms have a kitchenette or pantry, but guests report that utensils are not always supplied, so ask before booking if you plan to cook.
Ngu Hanh Son and Non Nuoc: villas and resort residences
The privately owned condo units are the mid-range option here. They appear on both Airbnb and Booking.com, and quality varies by owner, so read recent reviews closely. For a morning climb, see our Marble Mountains guide.
Luxury: Furama Villas Danang
Furama Villas Danang, at 107 Vo Nguyen Giap in Khue My, is a set of villas with private pools next to the Furama resort and its beach. The residences come with fully equipped kitchens, living areas and balconies, and guests use the resort’s pools, spa and beach. It is a good fit for families who want to cook some meals and have Hoi An within reach.
Long stays: monthly Da Nang apartments for digital nomads
Da Nang is popular for month-long stays, and An Thuong is the usual first choice because cafes, gyms, coworking spaces and the beach are all close. One long-term resident also recommends Son Tra for a more local feel (Expatolife).
What it costs. A studio in a central area was around VND 6 million a month (nearly USD 260) in May 2026, and a one-bedroom could reach VND 12 million (about USD 520), according to VOV. Those are local lease prices. Serviced apartments and Airbnb monthly bookings usually cost more because cleaning, internet and furniture are included.
How to find one. A common approach is to book a serviced apartment or Airbnb for the first week or month, then view local apartments in person. When you compare, ask whether rent covers water, internet, electricity and cleaning, take photos of the flat when you move in, and ask for a contract and receipts.
Visa and registration. Most foreigners can stay up to three months on an e-visa, so a long stay needs planning; see our Vietnam e-visa guide. Your landlord must still register you with the police, whatever the length of stay.

Plan your stay in Da Nang
Airport transfer. The airport sits inside the city, so transfers are short: about 10 minutes to Hai Chau, 15 to 20 minutes to My Khe and 20 to 25 minutes to Non Nuoc. A Grab from the airport to the centre or My Khe costs about 80,000 to 150,000 VND (roughly USD 3 to 6), per the Vietnam Tourism guide. If you have booked a private apartment with self check-in, tell the host your flight time so the lockbox code or key is ready.
When prices peak. Demand is highest from June to August, during Tet (late January or February) and on fireworks nights. The 2026 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival ran from 30 May to 11 July, according to Tuoi Tre News. September to December is the rainy season, when monthly deals are easier to find but beach days are less reliable. Check Vietnam weather by month before you commit to a long stay.
Getting around. Grab cars and motorbikes are the easiest way to move between areas. Walking works in An Thuong and along the river, less so in Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son. If you are heading on to Hoi An, our Hoi An to Da Nang guide covers transfers.
Addresses. Da Nang merged with Quang Nam province on 1 July 2025, and the old districts were replaced by new wards (Viet Nam News). Booking sites mix old and new names, so the same building may show as Son Tra district on one site and a ward name on another. Check the street number and the map pin.
