Places at a glance

Island villas in the far south

Best for a long stay in a pool villa

Phu Quoc

Vietnam's largest island has the most all-villa resorts, with the driest weather from about December to April.

Phu Quoc has more all-villa resorts than anywhere else in Vietnam, and the south of the island, around Khem Beach and Ong Doi Cape, is where most of them sit. A taxi from the airport takes 25 to 40 minutes to the south and about 55 minutes to Vung Bau in the north. The trade-off is distance: the island is spread out, and from a villa resort you need a taxi for every meal out. Choose it for four nights or more from December to April. Skip it for a two-night trip.

Villa resorts between city and old town

Best for groups who want sightseeing too

Da Nang and Hoi An

The coast from Da Nang's My Khe and Non Nuoc beaches south to Ha My, near Hoi An's old town.

The beach road from Da Nang to Hoi An has the widest range of villas in central Vietnam, from all-villa resorts to privately owned pool villas inside resort compounds. Da Nang airport is in the city, so most villas are 15 to 30 minutes away, and Hoi An's old town is 20 to 30 minutes south of Non Nuoc. That makes this the easiest base for a group that wants a pool villa and day trips. The trade-off is weather: September to December is wet, with the highest storm risk in October.

Spa villas near the airport

Best for families and spa stays

Nha Trang and Cam Ranh

The Khanh Hoa coast, from Ninh Van Bay north of Nha Trang to the Cam Ranh resort strip by the airport.

Most villa resorts on this coast sit on the Cam Ranh strip, 5 to 8 km from Cam Ranh airport, so the transfer is among the shortest in the country. Nha Trang city is 30 to 50 minutes north, which means these are places to stay put. Ninh Van Bay, north of the city, is reached only by boat. The trade-off is that there is little outside the resorts, and October to December is the wettest period. Choose Cam Ranh for a family villa with a kids' club or a spa-inclusive stay.

Quiet villa coves

Best for couples who want few crowds

Quy Nhon and Phu Yen

A less visited stretch of coast between Quy Nhon and Song Cau, with two small luxury villa resorts.

Quy Nhon and the old Phu Yen coast to its south see far fewer foreign visitors than Da Nang or Nha Trang. Both villa resorts here face private coves with hills behind. Phu Cat airport is about 40 km from Anantara and about 61 km from Zannier. The trade-off is fewer flights, long transfers and little to eat outside the resorts. Choose this coast for a honeymoon or a slow week; skip it for a large group on a budget.

Drive-to villas from Saigon

Best for a weekend villa from Saigon

Ho Tram and Mui Ne

Beach resorts two to three hours by road from Ho Chi Minh City, with no flight needed.

Ho Tram and Mui Ne are the closest villa beaches to Saigon. Ho Tram is about 108 km from Tan Son Nhat airport, or around 2 hours 20 minutes by car; Mui Ne is about 2.5 hours on the expressway. Ho Tram is a quiet strip of large resorts and a casino complex; Mui Ne is busier, with kitesurfing and sand dunes. The trade-off is weekend crowds from the city and no airport nearby. Choose it for a two to four night group trip from Saigon.

Pine hills and French villas

Best for cool air and a heritage stay

Da Lat

A highland city about 28 km from Lien Khuong airport, known for French-era villas and pine forest.

Da Lat sits in the Central Highlands, and its villas are old French houses and pine-forest homes, not beach pool villas. The airport is about 28 km away, 30 to 40 minutes by taxi. Nights are cool, so a heated pool matters more than a sea view. The trade-off is that there is no beach and the hill roads are slow. Choose Da Lat for two or three nights as a contrast to the coast.

Lake and forest villas near the capital

Best for a group weekend from Hanoi

Hanoi outskirts

Lake and hill resorts about an hour from Hanoi, popular with Hanoi families at weekends.

Around Hanoi, villas are weekend retreats by lakes and forest rather than beach houses. Dai Lai Lake, about an hour from central Hanoi and 30 minutes from Noi Bai airport, has the main villa resort. These are useful for a group that wants a big house and a pool between city days. The trade-off is that weekends fill with local groups, and many villas are privately owned with mixed upkeep. Choose a weekday if you can.

Resort pool villas or a whole private villa?

Villas in Vietnam come in two kinds, and the difference matters more than the brand.

Resort pool villas are units inside a hotel-run resort. You get a private pool, daily housekeeping, restaurants, a spa and often a kids’ club. Most have one to three bedrooms; a few resorts offer four or five. Prices are per villa, but breakfast for extra guests and children over a set age can cost more: Premier Village Danang Resort, for example, charges children 12 and over as adults, according to its Booking.com listing.

Whole private villas are houses rented as a unit, either standalone or inside a resort compound. They usually have a full kitchen and more bedrooms per dollar. Furama Villas Danang and the villas at Dai Lai are examples: some are run by the resort, others by private owners under similar names. Service, cleaning and upkeep depend on who runs your villa, so read the listing carefully.

Group What to book Examples on this list
Couple One-bedroom pool villa Six Senses Ninh Van Bay, Anantara Quy Nhon Villas, Anantara Mui Ne Resort

Choose it for four nights or more from December to April. Skip it for a two-night trip. Our best resorts in Phu Quoc guide covers more resorts by area.

Phu Quoc, Vietnam: AI illustration of the area

Premier Village Phu Quoc Resort

An all-villa resort managed by Accor on Ong Doi Cape, the island’s southern tip, with the sea on two sides. Every villa has a private pool and a kitchen, and booking sites list one to five bedrooms, with the largest sleeping about 15. Why this one: it is the most flexible group villa on the island. A June 2026 review notes it is not a true all-inclusive, so budget for meals.

New World Phu Quoc Resort

A large all-villa resort on Khem Beach, about 16 km from the airport, where every villa has its own pool. Guests praise the free water park and children’s activities. Why this one: it is the family pick in the south, with space for children to swim at the villa and the resort pool. Recent reviews mention crowded breakfasts and sun loungers at busy times.

Fusion Resort Phu Quoc

A spa resort at Vung Bau in the north, about 55 minutes from the airport, with about 97 villas, each with its own pool and garden. Most are one-bedroom garden villas, with some two-bedroom villas and one five-bedroom beach villa. Why this one: spa time is part of the stay, on a quieter northern beach. Reviewers say the rate covers one treatment per person, so check the terms.

Da Nang and Hoi An villas

The beach road from Da Nang to Hoi An has the widest range of villas in central Vietnam, from all-villa resorts to privately owned pool villas inside resort compounds. Da Nang airport is in the city, so most villas are 15 to 30 minutes away, and Hoi An’s old town is 20 to 30 minutes south of Non Nuoc. That makes this the easiest base for a group that wants a pool villa and day trips.

The trade-off is weather: September to December is wet, with the highest storm risk in October. See our best resorts in Da Nang and Da Nang apartments and Airbnb guides for other options.

Da Nang and Hoi An, Vietnam: AI illustration of the area

Danang Marriott Resort & Spa, Non Nuoc Beach Villas

Our top choice. Marriott lists 122 private pool villas in gardens on Non Nuoc Beach, with an infinity pool, five restaurants and bars, and a spa. Three-bedroom villas are listed for up to seven guests, and Booking.com says extra beds are not available. Why this one: it gives a group a pool and resort service at a lower price than the Nam Hai. The villas are spread out, so you ride a buggy to meals.

Premier Village Danang Resort

An Accor-managed villa resort on Vo Nguyen Giap, at the south end of My Khe, about 6 km from the airport. Villas have one to four bedrooms and private pools, and the resort’s own profile says most are four-bedroom. There is a kids’ club and a children’s pool. Why this one: it is the best fit for 8 to 10 people who want resort service close to the city. Children 12 and over are charged as adults.

Fusion Resort & Villas Da Nang

A newer spa-inclusive resort on the Non Nuoc strip, whose Maia Spa opened in December 2024. Villas run from one bedroom to five-bedroom beachfront pool villas listed for 10 to 14 guests, depending on the site. Why this one: it has the largest villas on this coast, with spa time on some rates. The spa-inclusive label applies to specific rates, so confirm what yours includes.

Furama Villas Danang

A villa compound at 107 Vo Nguyen Giap, next to Furama Resort, with one- to four-bedroom pool villas and full kitchens. The four-bedroom beachfront villa is listed for up to 12 guests. Why this one: it is the easiest self-catering group villa near the city. Some villas here are sold by private operators under other names, and one review says Furama staff do not serve those guests, so book the official Furama Villas Danang listing.

Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai

A villa resort on Ha My Beach, about 30 minutes from Da Nang airport and 10 minutes from Hoi An’s old town. Pool villas have one to five bedrooms and butler service, and the five-bedroom villa covers about 520 m2 for up to nine adults. Why this one: it is the top-end family villa in Vietnam, with a free kids’ club for ages 4 to 12. It is also the most expensive villa on this list. Our Hoi An beach resorts guide covers cheaper options nearby.

Nha Trang and Cam Ranh villas

Most villa resorts on this coast sit on the Cam Ranh strip, 5 to 8 km from Cam Ranh airport, so the transfer is among the shortest in the country. Nha Trang city is 30 to 50 minutes north, which means these are places to stay put. Ninh Van Bay, north of the city, is reached only by boat. The trade-off is that there is little outside the resorts, and October to December is the wettest period. Choose Cam Ranh for a family villa with a kids’ club or a spa-inclusive stay.

Six Senses Ninh Van Bay

A villa resort on a private bay, reached by a one-hour drive from Cam Ranh airport and a 20-minute speedboat. Booking.com lists 62 villas, each with a private pool. Why this one: it is Vietnam’s classic honeymoon villa resort, and every villa has its own pool. Transfers cost extra, and New Year’s Eve brings a compulsory gala dinner fee.

Fusion Resort Cam Ranh

A beachfront resort 5 km from Cam Ranh airport, where spa treatments and breakfast at any time and place are part of the stay. The resort lists pool villas from one bedroom up to a four-bedroom beachfront pool villa. Why this one: it is the best value villa with spa time included, and the airport ride is short. There is little to walk to outside the gate.

Alma Resort Cam Ranh

A large resort on Bai Dai beach north of the airport, with 12 pools, a kids’ club and a water park. Its three-bedroom pavilions and ground-floor two-bedroom pavilions have private pools; upper-floor two-bedroom units have jacuzzis instead. Why this one: it is the strongest family villa on this coast, named a recommended family resort in January 2026. Ask for a ground-floor pavilion if a pool matters.

Quy Nhon and Phu Yen villas

Quy Nhon and the old Phu Yen coast to its south see far fewer foreign visitors than Da Nang or Nha Trang. Both villa resorts here face private coves with hills behind. Phu Cat airport is about 40 km from Anantara and about 61 km from Zannier. The trade-off is fewer flights, long transfers and little to eat outside the resorts. Choose this coast for a honeymoon or a slow week; skip it for a large group on a budget.

Anantara Quy Nhon Villas

An all-villa resort on a private cove at Ghenh Rang, south of Quy Nhon, with 25 pool villas, a cliffside spa and an infinity pool. Booking.com lists one-bedroom ocean-view and beachfront pool villas plus two-bedroom villas. Why this one: it is small and quiet, the couples’ pick on this coast. Some reviewers find the price high, and one says the food fell short of the rest.

Zannier Bai San Ho

A resort of 73 villas on a coral bay near Song Cau, in the former Phu Yen province, now part of Dak Lak. Villa types include hill, beach and Grand Bay pool villas. Why this one: it is the most nature-led villa resort on this list, with snorkelling in the bay. The shuttle from Phu Cat or Tuy Hoa airport takes about 1 hour 20 minutes and costs extra.

Ho Tram and Mui Ne villas

Ho Tram and Mui Ne are the closest villa beaches to Saigon. Ho Tram is about 108 km from Tan Son Nhat airport, or around 2 hours 20 minutes by car; Mui Ne is about 2.5 hours on the expressway. Ho Tram is a quiet strip of large resorts and a casino complex; Mui Ne is busier, with kitesurfing and sand dunes. The trade-off is weekend crowds from the city and no airport nearby. Choose it for a two to four night group trip from Saigon. Our Vung Tau day trip guide covers the coast nearby.

Melia Ho Tram Beach Resort

A beachfront resort with The Level, a section of 61 villas with two to four bedrooms, each with a private pool, plus a private lounge. The three-bedroom beachfront villas have infinity pools facing the sand. Why this one: it is the best large-group villa within a drive of Saigon. Reviewers warn that room service is expensive.

Ixora Ho Tram by Fusion

A newer complex inside The Grand Ho Tram strip with 46 villas and 164 apartments. Two- and three-bedroom pool villas are listed for about 7 to 11 guests. Why this one: it gives groups a multi-bedroom pool villa at mid-range prices, with a spa and a kids’ club. Not every unit has a private pool, and a second phase planned for 2026 had not been confirmed open when we checked.

Anantara Mui Ne Resort

A beachfront resort on the Mui Ne strip with 19 private pool villas among its 89 rooms, suites and villas, in one- and two-bedroom sizes. Why this one: it is the most established high-end villa in Mui Ne. A 2024 reviewer said the hedge around their pool did not give full privacy, so ask for a villa with a closed garden.

Da Lat villas

Da Lat sits in the Central Highlands, and its villas are old French houses and pine-forest homes, not beach pool villas. The airport is about 28 km away, 30 to 40 minutes by taxi. Nights are cool, so a heated pool matters more than a sea view. The trade-off is that there is no beach and the hill roads are slow. Choose Da Lat for two or three nights as a contrast to the coast. Our Da Lat from Saigon guide covers getting there.

Ana Mandara Villas Dalat Resort & Spa

A resort of 17 restored French colonial villas on a pine hill on Le Lai Street, with a heated pool and a spa. Each villa holds three to five en suite rooms around a shared lounge, dining room and terrace. Why this one: the villas date from the 1920s and 1930s, a stay unlike anything on the coast, and July 2026 reviews praise the staff. Rooms are sold one by one, so a group should ask the resort about taking a whole villa.

Villas near Hanoi

Around Hanoi, villas are weekend retreats by lakes and forest rather than beach houses. Dai Lai Lake, about an hour from central Hanoi and 30 minutes from Noi Bai airport, has the main villa resort. These are useful for a group that wants a big house and a pool between city days. The trade-off is that weekends fill with local groups, and many villas are privately owned with mixed upkeep. Choose a weekday if you can. For other trips out of the city, see our Hanoi day trips guide.

Flamingo Dai Lai Resort

A lake and forest resort at Dai Lai, in the former Vinh Phuc province, now part of Phu Tho, with an outdoor pool and a spa. Villa listings at Dai Lai run from one bedroom to five-bedroom houses for up to 14 guests. Why this one: it is the closest large-villa stay to Hanoi and Noi Bai airport. Many privately owned villas use the Flamingo name, so book the listing managed by Flamingo Hotels & Resorts. A May 2026 review calls the fittings good but not new.

What to check before you book a villa in Vietnam

Who runs it. In compounds such as Furama Villas Danang and Dai Lai, the same villa may appear under several names. Check whether the resort or a private owner runs your listing, as that decides cleaning, breakfast and pool care.

Guest numbers and extra beds. Rates usually cover a set number of guests. Some resorts do not allow extra beds, and many charge older children as adults for breakfast. Give the exact headcount when you book.

Cleaning. Resort villas include daily housekeeping. Whole private villas may clean only on arrival, or charge for extra cleaning, so check the listing.

Deposits. Private villas may ask for a security deposit, in cash or on a card, at check-in. Check the amount and how it is refunded before you pay.

Passports and registration. Under Vietnamese law, the place you stay must declare foreign guests to the local police, within 12 hours of arrival or 24 hours in remote areas. This applies to private villas and homestays as well as hotels, so the host will ask for your passport details. A villa that does not ask is a warning sign.

Holiday rates. Prices rise over Tet, in late January or February, and the 30 April and 2 September holidays, when Vietnamese families book villas. See our Vietnam public holidays guide for dates.

Plan your stay

Getting there. Phu Quoc, Da Nang, Cam Ranh, Quy Nhon (Phu Cat), Tuy Hoa and Da Lat (Lien Khuong) all have airports with domestic flights. Ho Tram and Mui Ne have no passenger airport, so most people drive from Saigon in two to three hours. For Phu Quoc, see our Phu Quoc from Saigon guide.

Airport transfers. Cam Ranh villas are the closest, 5 to 8 km from the airport. Da Nang villas are 15 to 30 minutes from the airport. In Phu Quoc, allow 25 to 40 minutes to the south and about 55 minutes to Vung Bau. Remote resorts such as Six Senses Ninh Van Bay and Zannier Bai San Ho charge for transfers, so ask the price before you book. A taxi or Grab from Lien Khuong airport to Da Lat usually costs about 250,000 to 450,000 VND (2026 guides differ). The airport reopened on 19 August 2026 after runway repairs.

When prices peak. In the south, December to February is the busiest season for villas. On the central coast, demand peaks from June to August, while September to December is wet. Check our Vietnam weather by month guide before you pick dates.

Getting around. Most villa resorts are outside town. Grab and taxis cover all these areas, and many resorts run shuttles, sometimes for a fee.

Addresses. On 1 July 2025, Vietnam merged its provinces from 63 to 34. Ba Ria-Vung Tau, home to Ho Tram, is now part of Ho Chi Minh City; Binh Thuan, home to Mui Ne, is part of Lam Dong; Binh Dinh is part of Gia Lai; and Vinh Phuc is part of Phu Tho. Booking sites may show either name, so search by property name. For the full list of resorts, see our best resorts in Vietnam guide.
