Of the best hotels in Phu Quoc, Cassia Cottage suits most visitors: a garden resort on Ba Keo beach with 3 pools, close to the airport and night market, and the top pick of 18 hotels here.

For luxury, Regent Phu Quoc on Long Beach is about 15 minutes from the airport, and JW Marriott Emerald Bay leads in the south. On a budget, Fla Village in town and Praha Hotel near Long Beach are simple bases.

Where to stay in Phu Quoc: areas at a glance

Town base with a beach edge

Best for first visits and short stays

Duong Dong and Ba Keo

The main town and the beach just south of it, with the night market, restaurants and the shortest airport ride.

Duong Dong is the island's main town, and Ba Keo is the beach strip at its southern edge. This is where you find the night market, most restaurants and the cheapest rooms, and the airport is 10 to 15 minutes away by taxi. Hotels range from budget town hotels to beachfront resorts such as Cassia Cottage and La Veranda. The trade-off is traffic and noise in the centre, and the town beach is busier than the resort coasts. Choose this area for a first visit of two to four nights, or if you want to eat out every evening. Skip it if you want a resort where you never leave the grounds.

Big resorts and beach bars

Best for beach-first trips and families

Long Beach (Bai Truong)

The long west-coast beach south of town, with most of the island's large resorts and the easiest beach base from the airport.

Long Beach, or Bai Truong, runs south of Duong Dong along the west coast, mostly within Duong To commune. Most of the island's large resorts are here, from SOL by Melia to Regent Phu Quoc and InterContinental, and the airport is 10 to 20 minutes away. Sunsets face the sea, and beach bars fill the central stretch. The trade-off is that the strip is long, so many resorts are a taxi ride from each other and from town. Some budget hotels sit a walk back from the sand. Choose Long Beach for a beach trip of three nights or more, especially with children. Skip it if you want to walk to dinner in town.

Quiet bays north of town

Best for couples and slow stays

Ong Lang

Small bays on the northwest coast with boutique resorts, villas and eco bungalows.

Ong Lang is a string of small bays on the northwest coast, north of Duong Dong and 25 to 35 minutes by taxi from the airport. Places to stay are mostly boutique resorts, villas and bungalows set among trees, so nights are quiet and beaches are calmer than on Long Beach. Duong Dong is close enough for dinner by taxi. The trade-off is that there is little to walk to, and some access roads are rough. Mosquitoes come up in reviews of the garden resorts. Choose Ong Lang for couples, remote workers and stays of four nights or more. Skip it for a two-night trip or if you want nightlife.

Luxury resorts and the cable car

Best for luxury resort stays

The south: An Thoi, Khem and Ong Doi Cape

The southern tip, with luxury resorts on Khem Beach and Ong Doi Cape, Sunset Town and the Hon Thom cable car.

The south of the island holds several of its best-known luxury resorts. JW Marriott sits on Khem Beach, Premier Village covers Ong Doi Cape at the southern tip, and Sunset Town has dining and the La Festa hotel. The Sun World Hon Thom cable car leaves from An Thoi Station nearby. A taxi from the airport takes 25 to 40 minutes. The trade-off is distance: Duong Dong and the night market are a long ride, and we found few budget hotels here. Choose the south for a resort stay of four nights or more, or a honeymoon in a pool villa. Skip it if you plan to eat in town most nights.

Remote north resort coast

Best for families who stay at one resort

Bai Dai

The northern resort coast, the furthest area from town, with large family resorts.

Bai Dai is the resort coast in the far north, in Ganh Dau commune. A taxi from the airport takes 45 to 60 minutes, so this is the most remote area on our list. Large family resorts sit on the beach here, including Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc, and guests tend to stay inside the resort. A June 2026 review describes the area as remote and strongly family-focused. The trade-off is that every trip to Duong Dong or the south is a long ride or a resort shuttle. Choose Bai Dai for a family resort stay of three nights or more. Skip it if you want to explore the island every day.

Best luxury hotels in Phu Quoc

Most of the island’s luxury hotels sit on Long Beach or in the south. Expect a large pool, a spa and a private stretch of beach as standard at this level.

Regent Phu Quoc, Long Beach

A beachfront resort on Bai Truong in Duong To, about 15 minutes from the airport, with suites and villas, several pools, a spa and a resort catamaran. Why this one: it is the top-end choice on Long Beach, and guest reviews from early 2026 praise the service and the villa pools. Sources give different room counts, from about 300 to 342.

InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort

A large resort on Bai Truong with 459 rooms, residences, suites and villas, seven restaurants and bars, and the HARNN Heritage Spa. Why this one: the size gives families plenty of dining and pool choice, and the airport is about 15 minutes away. The INK 360 rooftop bar is one of the highest bars on the island.

La Veranda Resort Phu Quoc – MGallery

A French colonial style resort on Tran Hung Dao, on Duong Dong beach, with about 73 rooms in a tropical garden. Why this one: it gives you a luxury stay close to town, so dinner in Duong Dong is a short ride. A 2026 guest review mentions a free airport shuttle, so confirm this when you book.

JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa

A beachfront resort on Khem Beach near An Thoi, designed by Bill Bensley around the theme of an imaginary old university. Why this one: it is the best-known luxury resort in the south, with a private beach and several pools, and Sao Beach is about 6.6 km away. Guest comments on the water are mixed, so check recent photos.

Premier Village Phu Quoc Resort

An all-villa resort managed by Accor on Ong Doi Cape at the southern tip, with the sea on two sides. Every villa has a private pool and a kitchen, and there is a Kids Club. Why this one: it is the strongest honeymoon or group villa choice. A July 2026 article puts one-bedroom garden villas from about 3,200,000 VND a night on weekdays.

Movenpick Villas & Residences Phu Quoc

A resort on Ong Lang Beach with villas, serviced apartments and hotel rooms, several pools, a spa and a gym. Why this one: villas with private pools in a quieter bay than Long Beach. Sources disagree on the walk to the sand, so check the map.

Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc

A large beachfront resort run by Vinpearl on Bai Dai in the north. Why this one: it suits families who want to stay at one resort for several days. It is 45 to 60 minutes from the airport, so plan on the resort shuttle or a taxi for any trip out.

Best mid-range hotels in Phu Quoc

Mid-range hotels are spread across the island. The best value is usually in Duong Dong and on Long Beach, where you can still reach the sand and town easily.

Cassia Cottage

A garden resort on Ba Keo beach, on Tran Hung Dao at the edge of Duong Dong, with three pools (one for children, an infinity pool and an adults-only pool), The Spice House restaurant and a small private beach. Why this one: it is our top choice because you get a beach resort with town and the airport close by. Airport transfers cost extra, and reviews mention mosquitoes.

Lahana Resort Phu Quoc & Spa

A 4-star resort at 91/3 Tran Hung Dao in Duong Dong, with an infinity pool, a restaurant and a spa. Why this one: it puts a resort pool inside the main town, so you can walk to food and shops. It is not on the beach, so beach days mean a short ride.

Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa

A 5-star hotel at 1 Vo Thi Sau, on the seafront in central Duong Dong, with about 250 rooms, an outdoor pool, a spa and a gym. Why this one: the night market and Dinh Cau temple are a few minutes’ walk away. It is a city hotel rather than a beach resort, and some rates are all-inclusive.

Salinda Resort Phu Quoc Island

A beachfront resort in Cua Lap hamlet, Duong To, about 4 km from the airport, listed in the Michelin Guide. Why this one: 2026 guest reviews praise the staff, breakfast and grounds, and it is easy to reach from the airport. A few reviewers find the rooms slightly dated.

SOL by Melia Phu Quoc

A beachfront resort on Bai Truong, 5 to 10 minutes from the airport, with side-by-side adult and children’s pools, a spa and a gym. Why this one: it is a value family pick on Long Beach. The Xtra SOL Suite, about 108 m2 with a separate living room, suits larger families, and some listings offer all-inclusive packages.

Chen Sea Resort & Spa

A villa resort on Ong Lang with 36 villas, some with private pools, and a large main pool beside the beach. Why this one: it is small and quiet, and a May 2026 review says it never feels crowded. Reviews mention a rough access road.

Mango Bay Resort

An eco resort in Ong Lang with about 44 wooden bungalows among trees and the On The Rock restaurant for sunset. Why this one: it suits couples who want nature over polish. Some bungalows have fans but no air conditioning, according to a February 2026 review, so check the room type before you book.

La Festa Phu Quoc, Curio Collection by Hilton

A hotel in Sunset Town near An Thoi, part of Hilton’s Curio Collection. Why this one: it is a mid-range base in the south, close to the cable car and the Sunset Town restaurants. Listings give different street details, so confirm the address with the hotel.

Best budget hotels in Phu Quoc

Budget hotels cluster in Duong Dong and behind Long Beach. We found few verified budget options in the south or at Bai Dai.

Fla Village

A small hotel on CMT8 street in central Duong Dong. Why this one: it puts you in town for food and taxis at a low price. Listings differ on the street and postal code, so confirm the address with the hotel before you arrive.

Praha Hotel

A budget hotel in the Duong To area, about a 10 to 12 minute walk to Long Beach. Why this one: it gives you Long Beach on a budget, and free parking is listed. Rates vary widely by date, so compare live prices.

Golden Topaz Resort

A 3.5-star resort at 5 Ap Ong Lang, Cua Duong, with an outdoor pool, a children’s pool and a spa. Why this one: it is a pool resort at a budget price in a quiet area. Listings put it about 4.7 km from the beach, so ask about shuttles or bike hire.

Long Beach (Bai Truong) Beach trips, families Budget to luxury 10 to 20 min

The trade-off is that every trip to Duong Dong or the south is a long ride or a resort shuttle. Choose Bai Dai for a family resort stay of three nights or more. Skip it if you want to explore the island every day.

Our rule of thumb: for two to four nights, pick a hotel in Duong Dong or on Long Beach. For four nights or more, a resort in Ong Lang, the south or Bai Dai is worth the longer ride.

Plan your stay in Phu Quoc

Airport transfer. Phu Quoc International Airport is just south of Duong Dong. A taxi takes 10 to 15 minutes to Duong Dong and 10 to 20 minutes to Long Beach, at about 150,000 to 250,000 VND, according to a guide updated in April 2026. Ong Lang and the south take 25 to 40 minutes, and Bai Dai takes 45 to 60 minutes. The guide gives no fares for those longer routes, so agree the price or use Grab. Many resorts run their own shuttle, sometimes for a fee.

When prices peak. The dry season runs from about December to April, and December to February is the busiest period, when popular hotels can sell out. Tet, in late January or early February, and the 30 April holiday also push prices up. May to October is the rainy season, with lower rates and rougher seas on the west coast. Check the Vietnam weather by month guide before you pick dates.

Getting around. Taxis and Grab cover the island, but distances are long, so a hotel far from town means a ride for most meals out. Many hotels rent motorbikes; read our motorbike rental guide for the licence rules first.

Addresses. On 1 July 2025, Phu Quoc became a special zone of An Giang province, after Kien Giang merged into An Giang. Booking sites may show either province name, so search by hotel name and area.

Getting here. Our Phu Quoc from Saigon guide covers the trip to the island, and the Mui Ne and Phu Quoc guide covers combining two beach stops.
